Travel Guide: Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos Pangasinan
Hundred Islands National Park Travel Guide
You’ve seen Hundred Islands National Park in your text books and splashed all over travel brochures of the Philippines. Hundred Islands in Alaminos Pangasinan is definitely one of the most iconic attractions of the Philippines. Although my recent visit there was short, it was worth every second.
Birds Eyeview from Quezon Island’s Viewdeck
The national park actually covers a land area of 1,884 hectares and consists of 123 islands, however only 3 islands have been developed for tourists. These are Governor, Quezon and Children’s Island.

One of the islands you should visit is Governor’s Island where there is a viewing deck which will provide you with an incredible view of the the Hundred Islands. This island also features a Guesthouse for rent which is perfect for use by a huge group. The guesthouse has 2 bedrooms, a living room, dining room, bathroom and kitchen. It has limited fresh water supply, fresh linens and generator powered electricity.
Boat Rental in Lucap Wharf
Quezon Island is also one of the most visited islands. This island is famous for its white sandy beaches that is best for snorkeling and kayaking. Kayaking and snorkeling equipment rental is available in the island. If you are looking for more of an isolationist experience, you can ask your boat driver to take you to one of the other islands with smaller beach coves.

Best Time to Visit
It highly recommended to visit the national park during dry or summer season November to May. If you are traveling by bus, its best to leave Manila by 12 midnight to reach the place just in time for breakfast.

Quezon Island
How to get there
Getting to the Hundred Islands is pretty simple. All you really need to do is take a bus to Alaminos Pangasinan (5-6 hours) then grab a boat from Barangay Lucap in Alaminos and Voila!.
Lucap or Alaminos Wharf, the jump off point to the National Park, is about 240 kilometres (150 miles) north from the Kilometer Zero marker in Rizal Park in Manila or about 4 hours drive by private vehicle.
From Alaminos City Public Market, proceed to Lucap terminal located in front of Suki Supermarket. From Lucap Wharf, you can rent a boat that will bring you to the islands.
The boat rental rates are standardized so you shouldn’t need to negotiate here. You can do it in a day from Manila if you leave early enough but its best to take your time and stay overnight in some resorts in Lucap or in Alaminos City.
