8 Cebu Spots Perfect For Your Barkada Food Trip
Eight Perfect Spots in Cebu For Your Barkada Food Trip
Where to eat? This might possibly be the most difficult question to answer in this millennia. I bet it would take you at least a couple of minutes to finally make up your mind and still opt for the nearest fast food instead. Don’t you get tired of eating at the same place every time you meet? Let’s spice things up, shall we? Bookmark this article and share it the next time someone in your barkada asks that dreadful question.

GIBB’S HOT WINGS AT STREETSCAPE
Address: Streetscape Cebu, Paseo Saturnino, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu
Telephone: (032) 505 2121

Chicken lovers rejoice, Gibb’s is exactly what you prayed for. Bring your squad for some craft beers and challenge one another to the spiciest level of wings. Don’t worry they have made a special type of beverage to counter the burning sensation. For the faint of heart (myself included), you can opt to try out their potato wedges, carbonara or tacos. And oh, don’t forget to write your name on the graffiti wall.
CAFÉ JASMIN
Address: F. Cabahug St, Cebu City, Cebu
Phone: (032) 422 0822
Hours: 9AM–10PM

Shades of blue and white cover this two-tiered coffee shop slash creative hub in Mabolo. In here every cup of coffee is an art masterpiece and you can choose to pair them with an Italian snack or a French pastry. On your way out, don’t forget to grab a copy of café owner Kota Yamada’s love-themed poetry and read out loud some hugot lines to your secret crush who friendzoned you.
AYALA PROGRESSIVE DINING EXPERIENCE
Address: Cardinal Rosales Ave, Cebu City, Cebu

The Terraces is basically the go-to destination for movies and meet-ups that I never once thought that it be possible to do a fun food trip by simply breaking down the typical meal to four equal parts: American appetizers at TGI Fridays, Oriental soup at Big Mao, Vietnamese mains at Lemon Grass and iced coffee and sweet desserts at Bo’s. That’s just our experience. There was never a rule to eat only at one place. How about you? What’s your combo?
CHIX SAVOUR
Address: 2, Alponso & Sons Bldg., Salinas Dr, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu
Phone: (02) 514 2890
Hours: 7AM–10:30PM

Three words: Cheap Chinese Dimsum. Not only that, it is conveniently situated in Salinas Drive, near Asiatown IT Park where most Cebuanos spend their weekends wasted or as what we’d like to describe it, “a chill night where we go for a drink or two”. Don’t forget to order their Wholesarap Chicken, their house specialty, it will surely blow you guys away.
MANGO MUSEUM
Address: V.Albano, Mandaue City, Cebu

|
---|

Ever wonder how dried mangoes are made? Then take a sneak peek inside the ProFood factory in Mandaue where you’ll be led to a mini-theater to watch a film about the brand, go through the manufacturing process and finally stroll around their museum and learn about the company’s history. And of course, buy souvenirs or better yet sample all their products. No one is stopping you.
TOM N TOMS COFFEE
Address: Pope John Paul II Ave, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu
Hours: Open 24 hours
Phone: (032) 888 9418

Nicknamed the Starbucks of Korea, barkadas all around Cebu have made this café over at The Greenery in Mabolo their external office. With it never ever closing up shop, you can satisfy your inner longing for freshly-baked pretzels and Pecan Praline Tomnccino even at four in the morning.
SNOW SHACK
Address: Crossroads Mall, Cebu City, Cebu

Since you’ve already tried Korean coffee, how about some Korean Snow Ice? I personally recommend their Injeolmi Snow made with rice cake powder, mochi cubes, almonds and cashews. And don’t you order one for each person as it is meant to be shared. What’s even better news is that this shack is located in Crossroads Banilad where Distillery and Dozu Izakaya party places are at.
SUGBO MERCADO
Address: Garden Bloc, Inez Villa St, Apas, Cebu City, Cebu
Phone: 0917 311 5777

To whoever thought about gathering exploratory food businesses all in one place on a weekend, God bless you. Ever drooled about trying out that popular Pad Thai in Bangkok, that Egg Cloud dessert in Hongkong or probably craving for some Texas-inspired baby back ribs? Realize all your foodporn dreams here. Surely, each one in the barkada would find something they’re craving for.
